Our daily commitment to energy efficiency

18 February marks National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles, an opportunity to reflect on the responsible use of resources and the importance of adopting sustainable behaviours, both at an individual and industrial level.

For Dellas, energy efficiency is a structural and ongoing commitment. In fact, Dellas considers the environment to be a priority stakeholder.
With this in mind, strategies are planned and implemented every year to reduce the environmental and territorial impact of production activities through:

  • a policy focused on improvement and energy saving;
  • careful and differentiated management of production waste.

The adoption of the Quality and Environment Policy, together with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications, represents a voluntary and tangible commitment to manage environmental aspects in an integrated manner at every stage of the business process.

Compliance with the principles of sustainable development and the balance between the environment, society and the economy translates into an organisation focused on:

  • reducing the environmental impact that an industrial company can create;
  • constantly improving its performance;
  • strictly complying with regulatory obligations;
  • monitoring the life cycle of products, from design to disposal.

Energy efficiency: concrete actions

Over the years, we have implemented a series of measures to increase the energy efficiency of our plants. In other words, we have adopted targeted measures to reduce energy consumption and, consequently, CO₂ equivalent emissions.

The main actions implemented include:

  • improving the energy efficiency of air compressors in production departments;
  • recovering thermal energy generated by sintering and welding plants and reusing it to heat work environments;
  • raising staff awareness through continuous improvement initiatives aimed at energy saving;
  • sourcing energy from renewable sources.

A path of continuous improvement

Energy saving is also, and above all, a cultural issue.
Involving staff, monitoring consumption, optimising production processes and investing in more efficient solutions means building a more responsible industrial model.

On International Energy Saving Day, Dellas renews its commitment to conscious resource management, aware that industrial competitiveness and environmental sustainability can and must go hand in hand.
Because every improvement, even the least visible, contributes to building a more balanced future.
